You guys have no idea how long I have been wanting to share this post! Thankfully, the lovely Maris reached out to me for an interview + “What’s in her bag” feature. So I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share here as well. I’ve included the basics I carry with me and talk a bit about the brands I love for cruelty-free, vegan essentials. Let me know what your favorite products are!
My philosophy is, carry what you need so you know what you have and learn to use only those things. I use to be the girl that carried a giant purse full of useless crap. Like pounds of stuff I never needed. Now I usually rock a cross body bag and keep only the basics.
Below I’ve listed everything included in my purse most recently. Minus sunglasses, because I’m infamous for losing them ALL THE TIME! So now I’m on the hunt for a new pair. Leave me suggestions below if you have any!
Pixie Mood Aztec Steph Bag
The Steph Bag is easily the most popular from Pixie Mood, I’m guilty of owning 3 others in different colors. The size is perfect and what I love most is the ability to use the handles and/or the strap that is expandable to a cross-body length.
I have nothing but positive things to say regarding this brand, check out my full review on their Steph Bag here.
Kavu Big Spender Wallet
Some might find this silly, but I like a long wallet that can accommodate a checkbook. For some reason those are harder to find, especially vegan versions. This has been my go-to for years now. I love the space and the fact it has a see-through window for my ID is great too! All around no-fuss wallet for simple people. It’s pretty perfect for what I need in my life, I highly recommend it.
Well Scent Smile Mood Support Oil
I talked all about Well Scent in a review a couple months back, you can check that out here. But this Smile oil blend stays with me at all times. I reach for it when I’m needing a boost of happiness or taking a moment to meditate. I instantly feel joy when I inhale this scent.
If you struggle with anxiety, depression or merely would like a clean “perfume” – I adore this blend. It’s slightly florally and has an instant calming effect on me.
Zabana Essentials Green Tea Lip Balm
You all know I love Zabana if you have been a reader for awhile now. They have amazing products, so many incredible scent combinations and these amazing lip balms. Something about the green tea one is just perfect to me. It does the job and I love the smell!
You can check out a review I did for some of the Zabana Essentials products, here.
If I could only recommend one thing to my ladies out there, it would be this menstrual cup. Why? Simple because the waste from feminine products is ridiculous. The amount of chemicals and toxic ingredients in mainstream tampons and pads is horrifying! As soon as I realized the impact I alone make by cutting that crap, I was convinced. A cup might be a scary thought for some, but even an organic, reusable pad is a huge improvement! This cup has made my time of the month WAY more manageable. I honestly don’t even dread my periods now. I have a system. I’ll share more on that if anyone is interested, basically holistic remedies and my survival tips.
You have to give this a try though, it takes a couple of days to get use to – but after one cycle you’ll be a pro! I recommend buying it off of Vitacost (it’s cheapest there), I have a $10 off referral link if you sign up and spend $30 or more on your first order. I believe it’s $29.99, so that would make it the price on a couple boxes of tampons. It really pays for itself, especially if you’re anything like me and buy tons of that stuff normally. Email me if you need help or want more info on it!
Mini Whisk Key Chain + Keys
I got this whisk key chain on my trip to Portland last year, actually exactly a year ago last week. God I miss Portland, if you want to send me there I would glady return and eat all the vegan food!
I love that this is a reminder of the adventure I went on as my first solo trip. This little key chain forever symbolizes my passion to cook and the amazing experience I had trying out new vegan foods.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Cell Phone
Not a fan of this phone, my husband converted me to match him and I still carry my old iPhone (5s) for photos. I’ll be switching back to Apple as soon as the newest model is released. I much prefer the opporating system, photo quality and user-friendlyness. I felt like I needed to mention it since it’s in my photos though.
What are your purse essentials?
I’ve had a lot of interest in sharing my favorite vegan, cruelty-free makeup products. Would any of you be interested in reading about that? Or maybe my skincare routine?
I know it’s hard converting to vegan brands. There are a lot to choose from. So I’m glad to share what I’ve found that works for me!0
