It seems as though many question the daily food intake of vegans. So I thought I’d share what an average day is like for me, consumption-wise. I don’t eat this every single day, but my breakfast typically stays the same as well as my snacks and any added superfoods I use to addition to my meals/smoothies (i.e. flax, chia, hemp seeds).
1 1/2 cups Strawberries (6-8)
1/4 cup Soy Vanilla Yogurt
1 tbsp. Hemp Seeds and/or Chia Seeds
Calories: 380-435 Protein: 10-12 grams
1 Apple (sliced)
1/4 cup Raw Almonds
Calories: 240-270 Protein: 6-7 grams
2 cups Zucchini Squash (sliced)
1 cup Strawberries (4-6)
4 oz. Gimme Lean Ground “Sausage”
Calories: 240-280 Protein: 17-19 grams
1 Apple (green)
1 cup Kale
1 cup Spinach
1 tbsp. Flax Seeds
Calories: 280-310 Protein: 6-8 grams
3-4 cups Romaine Lettuce
10 Organic Cherry Tomatoes
2 Gardein Chipotle Lime Crispy Fingers
Calories: 200-250 Protein: 20-24 grams
As you can see I consume anywhere from 1340-1545 calories and 59-70 grams of protein daily. I also only drink water and/or green tea during my day, typically 1/2-1 gallons of distilled water and 1-3 cups of green tea.
I also workout daily, anywhere from 30-60 minutes, or more, ranging from 400-800 calories burned. It all depends on what my day consists of and how I’m feeling.
I track my calories using an app called My Fitness Pal (also online, same name), just to make sure I’m eating right and to reflect on past days if I’m having a bad week or I don’t hit my weight-loss goals. I plan on continuing to use this feature until I’ve hit my end goal, 100 pounds.
Hopefully this gives anyone curious a bit of insight on my typical food consumption, as well as my daily routine.
