Don’t think I ever formally introduced this little guy to everyone on here, but this is Charlie. I talked a little about him on my Instagram a couple of weeks ago. But I’ve been keeping him pretty hush-hush just because we didn’t know if we were going to keep him or not. Which You’re probably thinking “Why would you even have to think about not?!” It’s a long story. But this guy is finally healthy, healed of all injuries/wounds and safe to be around my now not so baby anymore, big boy Hunter.
Charlie was rescued by my husband, Tim. It’s been almost 4 weeks now since he brought him home. We had to keep him in the bathroom because he had two huge gashes (quarter sized) completely open on his back and lower back. Both seriously infected, bleeding and just horribly bad and so depressing. Keep in mind he, at the time, was only 2 pounds (if that) and the size of my hand. After taking him to an emergency vet, they said he was actually 3 months old… which is too hard to imagine. Charlie had a very serious ringworm that was making him really sick. He also had/has a few old scars on his thighs and neck. I truly have no idea how this little guy managed to survive outside for so long, but he was very close to dying without antibiotics and treatment for his ringworm.
Charlie is now totally healthy, on a second preventative treatment for the ringworm and all wounds are healed with no more infection. He’s already gained a pound and slowly getting to a healthy weight for his age. We’ve since introduced him to Hunter and it’s been a slow process of rough-housing, which probably won’t stop anytime soon but they’re warming up to each other now.
I never expected us to get a new cat at this time but we’ve already had Hunter over a year now so this is the best time for him to make a friend.
I’m really happy to have Charlie in our little family 🙂
