Where do I even start? I’ve prolonged writing this because I’m still in awe over this year and everything that came along with it. The Plant Strong Vegan is turning 3, marking 3 years living a vegan lifestyle and sharing my journey along the way. This past January I made the decision to fully commit myself to my blog. I quit my full time job to pursue what made me happiest, cooking and sharing my recipes with all of you. Over the span of 2015, I watched myself grow into the person I wanted to be. I found my calling and no matter what happens with it, good or bad, I’m so happy I invested my all into pursuing this. Before I get too sappy, lets take a look back on my goals for 2015. I wrote this blog post “My 2015 Goals” really creative title, I know. In it I shared a few things I wanted to work towards. My biggest goal was having my work published. Which might sound silly, but in my mind this was a honor that meant the world to me. I’m so happy to share that I was published 3 times. You can see links to some of those pieces on my Press page.
Another goal was to start the process of creating my very own cookbook. It wasn’t until the end of this year that I revisited that idea. It is something I’m still working towards, very slowly. Who knows when it will happen, but I have many more recipes I want to share.
Collaborating more with like-minded people and brands was huge for me this year. I had the opportunity to share many giveaways, reviews and meet so many inspiring vegans over the year. You can expect even more in 2016! I can’t wait to share a few sponsorship opportunities coming very soon!
I wasn’t able to travel or work on myself as much, however I have big plans to fix both of those in the coming months. Getting my health in check has been a secret mission of mine since 2010. I haven’t shared much on this topic, I like to keep my personal life off of the blog. I will be talking more about this in the future, it’s been long enough and I want to be honest with my PSV family.
While focusing on stats and the numbers behind my site isn’t anything that should define my success or give more or less worth to the content I’ve created, I was so very close to hitting 1 million site views this year. Maybe I’ll celebrate that later in January – for now I’m happy I was able to increase overall engagement. I learn more and more with each recipe I create. My photos have improved, my writing has become more “me” and I feel very confident in where I’m at right now. I thank all of you for the continued support and interest in my work. Each comment I receive fills my heart with joy, I read every single one of them and I couldn’t be happier knowing I’m able to interact with so many wonderful readers.
What does 2016 hold for me and The PSV?! Well, I can say that without a doubt, you will see many more recipes. Some will be sponsored by companies I’m partnering with and all will be vegan, of course. My main focus is to continue learning, perfecting my craft and increasing the quality of my work. I hope you all know that I put everything I have into this site. It might not be fancy or very popular, but it is my home and a safe place for everyone that’s interested in learning more about the vegan lifestyle. From recipes to beauty products, I will be sharing it all!
You can also expect a rebrand in early 2016, due to reasoning I won’t get into – I have to change my name. I’m taking this as an opportunity to really focus on where I’m at and where I want to take this site in the future. I’m open to suggestions!
Wishing you all another wonderful year of life. I hope all of your goals are achieved and you find happiness in the little moments of each day.0
