With the holidays fast approaching it felt like the best opportunity to share an apple cider punch perfect for all ages. This is truly a fun spin on a classic that will really bring spice to your holiday party or family gathering. I’m curious to know, do you and your family have any holiday food/drink traditions?
I’m a big fan of the Kroger brand apple cider. We stock up on it every year to simmer with orange slices and cinnamon sticks. This year I can’t wait to share this festive punch version with my family. I love that it’s alcohol-free, so it’s safe for the kiddos too. I made this recipe extra special using some apple cider syrup I shared the recipe for recently. It’s a super concentrated and flavor-packed sweetener that helps brighten this drink even more. Highly recommend making a batch.
My favorite thing about making this is adding all the garnishes. I’ll admit, I go a bit overboard but it’s a special occasion drink so I don’t feel too guilty. I personally love to add a sprig of fresh rosemary, some frozen or fresh cranberries, a little fresh nutmeg on top and a cinnamon stick for good measure. Load up on all the fresh fruit slices too! You can make it like a sangria adding extra chopped apples and oranges for even more fresh flavor.
Do yourself a favor and be sure to stock up on all the goods from your local Kroger Family of Stores. Let me know if you give this recipe a try, I would love to hear what you think! Yield 12 servings
- Add cider and spices to a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in syrup until fully dissolved, alternatively you can use any liquid or granulated sugar of choice to sweeten.
- Remove from the heat and whisk in orange juice concentrate.
- Transfer to a large pitcher or serving bowl, adding the remaining cider. Let it cool down in the fridge until needed.
- When ready to serve, add chilled sparkling water and fruit slices. Pour over ice as desired and garnish with a cinnamon stick (optional).
*You can opt out of using an unsweetened carbonated water for a ginger ale and remove the added syrup.
