So today I want to talk about body image and self love. I feel like now that we’re getting into the summer season a lot of people, especially women, get really down on themselves about their appearance. There’s always that pressure during this season to look paper thin/tan/flawless etc. but you know what? That’s not important at all! What is, is you realizing you’re self worth and that it’s okay to be different because that is beautiful!
I hate it so much when I see all these tiny girls around my age that have no curves, no sparkle or a completely fake orange tan. That’s not cute at all! Do you really wanna look like that? Didn’t think so. Stop focusing on what you don’t have/look like and start embracing what makes you, you!
If we all looked the same this would be a very sad and boring world. Our ethnicities, our distinct characteristics are what set us apart and create this spectrum of beauty. You need to look at yourself right now, in the mirror, and say ” I am beautiful!” because your “flaws” or whatever it is you dislike, makes you special. It sets you apart and gives you a feature that’s unique only to you.
You’ll always want what you can’t change, until you accept yourself as is and realize there’s so much more to life then what meets the eye. Don’t base your standards of physical qualities on what the media portrays. That is fake, false, unrealistic and not beautiful. Practice self love, be confident in all that you are and own it! Confidence is sexy, curves are sexy and being yourself is perfect.
Be thankful for the body you have, treat it with respect, carry it with class and keep it healthy. For its the only body you’ll get in this lifetime.
