I like PlantFusion powder because it has protein from different sources (pea, artichoke, amaranth and quinoa) and also has an amino acid profile listed on the side which seemed to be more balanced than some of the other vegan protein powder options.
I have tried several other protein powders and so far this is overall the best, in my opinion. My favorite is the chocolate but I enjoy the versatility of the unflavored. The powder itself is very fine and mixes well with water, but I put mine in a blender with ice, non-dairy milk, organic cocoa powder and a banana.
However I will say they’re a bit sweet, so blend with milder fruits if you’re not interested in excess sugar/sweetness. I recommend blueberries or blackberries to mellow it out.
I honestly don’t enjoy drinking anything like this in just water, but these weren’t half bad. So if you like to take a shaker bottle to the gym then these will work fantastically.
I prefer these post workout and as a meal replacer blended with fruits and veggies. Otherwise, this powder filled me up nicely and actually lowered my cravings for sweet food while keeping me fuller longer.
In conclusion this is a great product. I wouldn’t recommend taking it with just water, but it makes a rather hearty and healthy meal replacement blended with fruit/veggies. It has a balanced amino acid profile as well because it mixes more than one plant protein and it also has enzymes. It does a great job at balancing my blood sugar and caused me zero digestion issues.
I won’t go into the many reasons you should be using soy-free & whey-free protein powders, but I’ve tried a few and have to say that this is the best tasting one thus far.
