I’ve been using BetterBody Food’s coconut oil for over a year now. So when they contacted me asking if I’d like to try out a few other goodies, I jumped at the idea and was pleased to do so! As always, I only share what I love and offer my 100% honest opinions and feedback.
I was very excited to try the refined coconut oil, I’ve always just used the extra virgin version. The difference being naturally refined has the coconut taste and aroma taken out. So that works nicely if you’re not interested in that flavor profile but want to experiment with the oil. Also, naturally refined can be used for cooking up to 450 degrees whereas extra virgin should stay at 350 degrees or lower.
I personally love using it in all needs beauty. Coconut oil is a phenomenal moisturizer and hair conditioning treatment (more on that another time). So not only can you cook/bake with it but it has wonderful properties in all aspects of health and living!
The cookbook, Delicious Meets Nutritious, is very well put together. Tons of delicious recipes and ideas to add more nutrient-rich foods into your life. I actually made the Southwestern Black Bean & Corn Salsa and it was so delicious! My family loved it 😀
All in all I loved everything I had the opportunity of trying out. I will say, however that I’m not a huge fan of agave, nor have I ever been. For some reason the taste has never been something I really crave. Paired with the vanilla it wasn’t bad at all but I’m still a fan of and much prefer maple syrup. That’s just my preference though, I recommend trying out new things and finding what you like best according to your tastebuds and/or lifestyle.
