Keeping cool with all the smoothies lately, my personal favorite being this orange creamsicle variety. It’s like a mild and less sweet version of an orange julius, with the added benefits of superfoods and veggies! Bulking up smoothies with greens is always an easy nutritional option – but have you tried adding cauliflower or zucchini?
Typically I drink quart smoothies with a balance of veggies and fruits, but I understand if you’re not about that life. This recipe yields about 40 ounces total, so feel free to half it if needed. You can also freeze leftovers into ice cubes or smoothies starters and reblend later on with other ingredients. This can be portioned into four small or two large servings.
A great replacement for cauliflower is peeled and frozen zucchini, both of which are very neutral and don’t affect the flavor, they just bulk it up. If you need to replace the bananas, I would recommend adding 3-5 pitted dates and another cup of veggies or ice to thicken. Depending on your dates you might need more or less based on the level of sweetness you prefer.
