My biggest goal this year would be having the opportunity to publish some of my work. I would love to have a recipe featured somewhere like a magazine. I was incredibly fortunate to be included in a Vegan Outreach pamphlet this past year – which was a huge honor to me. I’m ready to work even harder and take that a step further.
Start Creating The Plant Strong Vegan Cookbook
I’ve had more demand on releasing an official book. That’s a huge project to take on, but it is something I’m working towards each and every day. I have no idea when or how it will happen, but I do plan on brainstorming and recipe testing for that this year.
I want to reach out to more foodies/content creators and vegan/eco-friendly brands. I live in my little bubble online, but I’d love to start collaborating with other vegan sites, companies and/or brands. This year I’m going to officially offer recipe development, brand reviews and step up my lifestyle section game.
Living a vegan lifestyle is about so much more than food, so expanding upon that this year is something I’m going to do more of. That means Monthly Favorites, sharing my favorite beauty/health products that are vegan/cruelty-free and organic.
I caught the wanderlust bug last year after a road trip to Portland from Oklahoma with my amazing friend Holly. I spent the weekend in a tiny house, right off of Alberta St. in Portland. It was the most incredible experience I’ve ever had. I want to do that whole trip all over again, this time properly documenting with my big camera.
So Portland, I will be back this year!
Work On Me
A while back ago, around the beginning of 2013 – I was working hard on taking care of myself. I was losing weight steadily, feeling great and getting my life back together. Unfortunately, my grandpa passed away later that year. I lost sight of everything and since then I haven’t even given working out a glance back. I really struggle with my weight, I have since I was a child. If you’ve followed me since creating The PSV, then you’ll know I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism at age 17. It’s been a battle controlling it, I’m still trying to get that part of me handled. But I’ve also self diagnosed myself as gluten sensitive. So this year I’m working on making the right changes in my diet and lifestyle to thrive again. It’s going to take time, but I’m not getting any younger and my life depends on it.
Hit 1 Million Site Views
Okay, this one might sound silly but I think reaching a million total site views would be AMAZING! I ended 2014 at 300k, so I think it’s doable!
It’s crazy to think I’ve had this page for almost 4 years. It’s taken me awhile to expand it – but I’m getting there and that makes me so happy to see.
This year it’s important that I reach out to you, my amazing readers and ask what YOU want to see. I currently concentrate on what I’m interested in and I try to remain seasonally accurate with content (i.e. holiday themed recipes). So if you want to see something new this year, whether it be a new series or style of recipes – let me know! I would love to hear your suggestions on what you would find beneficial to your life.
According to last year, my top post was actually a challenge I did for Plant Based on a Budget – $25 a week meal plan. I still get so much love from sharing that. So this year you can definitely expect an updated version. I want to create many more of these, gluten-free – soy-free – raw till 4. Let me know what you think about that!
Most importantly, my goal this year is to lighten up. I need to branch out and have a good time, more often. I love working hard and running this site, but I definitely need to keep it all in perspective and give myself time to relax and unwind on occasion. Meeting new friends, preferably vegan would be amazing. Not a lot of vegans here in Texas, which makes living this lifestyle harder. I have an amazing support group online, I would love to meet more friendly faces in person this year.
I’m wishing you all a vibrant 2015! Lets get it together, take those steps towards happiness and work hard for everything we want most.
My father always says, “If you’re handed everything you never learn the true value of it and take it for granted. Working for what you want makes getting it even greater”. My dad is wise beyond words, I love him to pieces and understand the truth in these words everyday. I’m going to keep pushing myself to reach every single goal I listed!
