Hot Lemon Pepper “Buffalo Style” Hummus

Game day ready in less than 10 minutes! Oil-Free Buffalo Style Hummus with a citrus kick. All you need is a blender and less than 10 ingredients to achieve this addictive combo.

Slowly easing back into recipes this month. I’m keeping it super user-friendly with a hummus you can blend up in less than 5 minutes! A spicy, citrus combination that I’ve been obsessed with for years. Back in my carnivorous days, when I ate wings, I always got the hot lemon pepper. It’s basically a mild hot wing with a lemon pepper seasoning. Something about that combo was truly addictive to me. I wanted to recreate it as a healthy dip variation that can be used on sandwiches, wraps and all the veggie sticks.

Be sure to adjust the level of heat to your desired comfort. You can also use a mild or hot buffalo sauce only and omit the hot sauce to keep it more tame if you prefer. I like to do equal parts of both and add a little extra lemon zest to brighten it up.

Next week I’ll show you my favorite way to use this hummus. Ultimately you can’t go wrong with it on sandwiches or diluted down as a dressing. This goes great on a mock chicken romaine salad, loaded with sunflower seed parmesan and coconut bac’n bits! Let me know what you think of it if you get a chance to make it.

I usually get Franks because it’s found in most grocery stores. I hope you enjoy it!
