Specifically I will be sharing my thoughts on the Cocoa Blueberry Protein Powder. Packing in at only 90 calories + 16 grams of protein per serving (3 leveled scoops), the Cocoa Blueberry powder is a fantastic low-calorie option for those looking for a plant-based boost. I adore the added benefit of an eco-friendly, reusable wooden scoop too!

At first I wasn’t keen on the aftertaste, if you follow the directions provided it recommends 3 leveled scoops per 6-8 ounces for a complete serving. I followed up with unsweetened almond milk and 1 frozen banana + 1/2 cup dark cherries. Blending everything until smooth. Even with the fruit, it had a very prominent greens taste, slightly gritty too. While I love the ingredients, they’re pretty potent on their own. I quickly learned that in order to love the smoothies, I needed to reduce the powder amount and up the fruit content.
My second test batch was 1 cup almond milk, 1 1/2 scoops cocoa blueberry powder + 2 frozen bananas and 1 tbsp of peanut butter. This really helped the flavor that was putting me off from the first smoothie combo. Using stronger ingredients help combat the overly “protein” aftertaste. I think it would be a fantastic post-workout treat!
You honestly can’t get much better than these ingredients, everything is sustainably sourced and organic. I truly believe this is a powerhouse blend of superfoods. However, if you’re looking for something light, this might not be your best option. I would really recommend this blend to individuals that are use to stronger flavors, including barley and spirulina, that want a high-quality protein full of health benefits. Definitely give it a try if you’re wanting a blend that’s free of fillers and artificial sweeteners, this protein is plant-pure!
