The thought of a cookie dough smoothie bowl is one I’ve had many times before. However I wasn’t able to find a way to justify eating cookie dough in a smoothie bowl and calling it breakfast. Until now.
Using my Low-Fat Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites. Yeah, that’s a mouthful… literally. So excited to share that recipe soon, and this particular combo. It might sound a little weird combining peanut butter bites, blueberries and chocolate protein powder, but I swear it works! Give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised.
I decided to use Orgain’s Cream Chocolate Protein, but you can use whatever you want. Feel free to substitute for a vanilla protein if that’s what you prefer taste-wise.
Now my recipe for the bites is delayed, I need another week to get that posted. I’m sorry! I’ll update this post with the links as soon as it’s live. In the mean time, I did also include an Orgain Chocolate Cookie Dough bar chopped up on top. Yet another boost of protein and it seriously tastes like a candy bar. They sent me a few samples to try and I’m officially hooked! I actually just order an entire box from Vitacost. On sale too! So perfect for my upcoming travels, I love having quick snacks on hand.
Back to the bowl, it’s a simple combo of blueberries and bananas as the base. I think this would be incredible as a peaches and cream version with vanilla protein powder, banana and coconut milk. Cookie dough bites might not be the best with it, but you can always make a batch and keep them in the freezer for guilt-free snacking when you want something sweet.
Jumping topics – I’m so excited for the next few months on content! I’m working hard at getting ahead and sharing a few very special posts that are close to my heart. You can expect a travel diary in September and October (Can you guess where I’m going to?!) AND many recipes that are easy to make and delicious as always. I’m getting hungry just thinking about them! Like Rainbow Sushi Burritos and Falafel Burgers, I’m having so much fun in the kitchen creating lately. Very inspired to start holiday recipe testing and all the comfort food dishes. What are some of your favorite winter meals? Are you looking for any specific recipes? Let me know and maybe I can create something based around it.
Please let me know if you give this a try. I would LOVE to see photos of your smoothie bowl masterpiece! You can tag me on Instagram @PlantPhilosophy and I’ll be sure to give it a “like” and leave a comment.
