I recently talked about Amazing Grass in a review, here. Today I’m sharing a fun way I like to incorporate Green Superfood into my diet. A smoothie being the easiest option of course. I actually would love to start a series here where I share more of what I eat day to day and how I make a combination of different breakfast smoothies. Both of which I don’t really touch on as much as I would like to.
Let me know if that sounds interesting, I know “What I Ate In A Day” videos and posts are becoming more and more popular. Mine is slightly different than what I see, since I tend to focus on meals based around seasonal ingredients and I take a few supplements to boost my overall health. It could be helpful for some of you, especially if you too struggle with thyroid supportive ingredients, so let me know if you’re interested in seeing that.
I digress, right now it’s all about this amazing smoothie.
You might roll your eyes at the fact I’m sharing a “recipe” for a drink. I get it, green smoothies are not ground-breaking material. So many others share them and swear by them. To be honest though, can you think of a more perfect way to get a huge portion of your daily nutrients in a single glass? I mean it’s pretty genius. Combining fruits and veggies to taste, throwing in a supplement or two and calling it breakfast.
Speaking from personal experience, smoothies are a daily requirement for me. I need to start my day with something cold and refreshing. Aside from water, of course. I like to down a 32 ounce smoothie at least once a day. You’ll hear me say it time and time again, smoothies are the fastest and most efficient way to obtain nutrients and aid your overall digestive health. They’re easy on your system and take little to no time to throw together. I even make ahead my jars and have them ready to go in the freezer. Just dump into the blender, add a liquid of choice and blend. That’s it! Much like I discuss in my 3 Easy Time-Saving Meals.
What I love most about adding Green Superfood to my morning smoothie is it’s virtually undetectable. When you combine the right fruits, they completely take over the flavor and that green taste is gone. It’s also a clever way to sneak veggies into your kiddos diet, if they’re having a hard time consuming them as is. You can always throw in some cacao to mask the green color if they have an aversion to green things.
Pin for later!
This particular blend is perfect for me because it actually includes a pre/probiotic blend. As well as all my needed greens, a natural boost of energy and more. I can’t say enough positive things about it! This has become an essential for me, 5-6 months strong.

I do (intermittently) suffer from low thyroid issues (that’s the one where you’re cold too often right?). At the moment I am not too cold these days and am still getting back into the groove of things since I had my 2nd baby 4 months ago. I would love to hear what you do for your thyroid and also I am always interested in time saving ideas for food and cleaning, meal planning and now school lunches for my son who is to start preschool next week.
Hypothyroidism is under-active (not producing enough thyroid hormone) and hyperthyroidism is overactive (producing too much thyroid hormone). I suffer from hypo, but am in the process of successfully reversing it by eating a vegan diet. You can actually check out my Macaccino review for a little more info on what I’ve been supplementing with to help AND I actually posted a back-to-school for kids lunches about a week ago. I link to a ton of pervious posts in that one for more no-bake snacks and such. I hope that helps!
In the future I’m going to dedicate a post to my thyroid struggles as well as continue to share more kid-friendly content.
Yes, I saw the school lunch ideas and loved them. I am planning on making some to see if my little guy will eat them. Thanks for all you do and for the inspiration!
Thank you, I’m pleased to hear you enjoyed them. I hope your little guy likes them too! Absolutely, I love having a space to share my work <3
Love the idea and the smoothie recipe. Thanks Margaret!
Glad you love it, it’s honestly so delicious. Thanks Ginger!
For the record, I’d enjoy seeing some WIAW posts from you. 🙂
Yeah? Well I’m happy to hear that! I plan on sharing one very soon, stay tuned <3
Way too many carbs—105? And 68 gms of sugar??? No thank you.
I personally thrive on a high carb diet, full of natural sugars. Modify to fit your needs.
